The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has announced over $100 million in funding for the design, fabrication, and testing of wave energy converters. PacWave, an open ocean wave energy testing facility, expects to begin operation and testing in 2025 at one of its two sites off the coast of Oregon with the help of funding from DOE.
